Joy Group

At the Rising Church we highly honor and value our Senior Saints. "Just Older Youth" is our JOY Group at The Rising Church. This group is for those aged 55 and older and their spouses. The JOY Group takes trips, conducts fundraisers and has monthly social gatherings. They also help people and organizations in our community.

We have been in ministry of some kind for most of our adult lives. Our hearts and passion is to serve God by serving other people in whatever way God wants. God placed us at The Rising Church (formally Harvest Praise Church) from its beginning in 1999. We have worn many different hats and God has used us to minister in many different ways.

For several years, we had a heart for our Senior Saints and saw the need for this ministry.  Often as we get older we feel less needed, less valued, less useful and many times less respected. In 2014 we began a senior saints ministry, The JOY (Just Older Youth) Group. Our mission at The Rising Church is to remind our Senior Saints they are still needed in the work of the Lord, and allow them every opportunity to share their gifts, wisdom, and knowledge with others.

The Rising Church JOY Group is for the purpose of fellowship, discipleship, encouragement, and fun.
