The Rising Church
Barry & Tammy Camp
Senior Pastors
We are the Senior Pastors of The Rising Church. We feel that God has shown us favor by giving us the best church family to shepherd. We are just a small part of God’s plan to build His kingdom, but we also know that every part is important and crucial in seeing that His plan is fulfilled. We love the Lord Jesus, and we love His people. We know that according to His Word we are called to be His hands, feet, and mouth here in the earth to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are called to love, forgive, serve, and give. We believe and trust that His Word is true and will stand and that we are called to Praise and Worship as long as we have breath. We thank Jesus Christ for allowing us to be His servant and we thank TRC for allowing us to serve them as Pastors and we look forward to what God has in store for us in the upcoming years.
Johnny & roma Powell
Associate Pastors
We have been married since 1975. We have two daughters and two grandchildren. We have been in ministry of some kind for most our adult lives. Our hearts and passion are to serve God by serving other people in whatever way God wants. God placed us at The Rising Church (formally Harvest Praise Church) from its beginning in 1999. We have worn many different hats and God has used us to minister in many different ways. Currently we serve as lead pastors for the senior saint’s ministry, the JOY Group (Just Older Youth) and the intercessory prayer team (The TRC Prayer Warriors). As part of The Rising Church Pastoral team, we help teach and train. We serve along side and support the other pastoral team members and their ministries as a team united to see the vision of “Winning Souls and Making Disciples” a reality in The Rising Church family. We serve in the alter to assist our senior pastor’s Bishop Barry and Pastor Tammy minister to all who come to the alter for prayer. Our heart is to serve God, serve people and build the Kingdom of God. Mark 12:29-31 (NLT) Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

Local and international missions have always been our hearts. From the time we were teenagers, our dream has been to spread the love of Jesus to all we encountered, and see lives transformed by Christ Jesus’ love, forgiveness and healing power. We are honored to serve at The Rising Church and to help cultivate the vision God has for TRC in the community and world. We know that we are part of the generation that will welcome Christ Jesus return - what an amazing time we are living in!
If you would like to be part of TRC missions, there are several ways to get involved locally and internationally. Come chat with us, we will love to share how you can get involved!

Hi! We are Dustin and Leah Camp. We have been married since April 2011 and have two children - Cadman and Stella. They are our pride and joy. Dustin owns a towing and tire store in Valdese, NC, and Leah works as the Office Administrator here at The Rising Church. Dustin's hobbies are hunting, fishing, and sports. And Leah's hobbies are S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G. and being a mom. We love spending our spare time hanging out with our family.
We have served with The Rising Church Children's Ministry since 2014. We love every child as our own! We believe in the power of planting seeds in the next generation and creating engaging, creative spaces for children to flourish in their unique and beautiful identity in Jesus Christ. We know these children have an influential calling for this region and beyond. We are thankful to have the privilege into their lives each week.
Our favorite part about TRC - Everyone is family, and we hope you feel the same as you come join us!
